Picked up a used 642 and put on a pair of Spegel grips I picked up in the classifieds. My first centennial and I am really impressed. The performance center action is excellent and I put in a 15lb rebound spring, and it runs like a top.

You did ok on it……others may post “ I wouldn’t a paid “that “ much, well my opinion is “”others”” werent involved in the deal so kiss off. Your new peice looks like new and the grips add a lot of value to the gun. I would have bought the deal with no haggeling. You done good son!

Very nice looking combo! I have a 642-2 that shares EDC time with my PC Shield Plus 9mm. I pocket carry the 642-2 in either a Malabar Leather bullhide pocket holster or Sticky Holster. Due to the hot and muggy weather here in Florida, I have a set of Uncle Mike's rubber stocks on the revolver for non-slip grip. I really like the set of Spegel stocks you added, I wish they made them just a little longer to better fit my big mitts. Enjoy!

OP, now you know which handgun would be the last you'd give up if it came to that. BTW, I'm not a spring guy. The replacement spring you installed, is it heavier or lighter than the factory item? Effect on trigger pull? Inquiring minds want to know.

A Wolff 15lb rebound spring. Slightly lighter than factory I think. Mainspring is factory. Trigger reset still is very positive. Maybe only .5 or so lighter than with factory rebound spring. Don't have a trigger scale. Overall a very nice PC trigger.
