Fell into a ripper deal on a barely used,(claimed 150 rounds), M&P22. Didn't need it, but when does that have anything to do with it? Stopped at the range today and ran a few mags through it....this thing is a blast to shoot and has a real nice feel to it... shoots bigger than it is, not like most 22's..

It REALLY liked the CCI MiniMags... but cycled anything I put in it even a mag of Rem SubSonics just for kicks... that surprised me..

10 rounds, 20YDS,just a touch left I think, I'll fix that.

Good shooting. Mine will shoot Rem Sub Sonics fine but CCI Quiet which are only 790 fps won't cycle the slide. I put a Dawson front fiber optic on mine and a Hogue grip meant for a FS M&P (with some mods) and I'm getting close to your target groups.

I love mine as well. Has run CCI Stingers, Standard Vel. 40 gr lead nose, AR Tactical, Aguila SuperExtra (dirty, smelly ammo)

Pretty much everything I've thrown at it.
Mine shot high left out of the box. The front site was visibly off center. Centered it up and turned the elevation screw down several clicks and she's right on now.

Have not been able to find extra mags for it though. Won't pay the gougers on the auction sites....

MidwayUSA's in-stock date is today FWIW:
M&P 22 12 rd. magazine

Those are great little plinkers and it's nice having the FS feel to it too. Mine shot a lot better than expected. I'm happy. :D

Mags are getting better. I got 5 more 10 rounders awhile back (again) and converted them to 12's. :D

YA...all the mags are 12's they just put a spacer block in the bottom of the mag to prevent the last two from loading to call them 10's..takes 5 minutes to get them out.....

Be nice when ammo and mags get back to normal.........

Shot her again today.... love this little plinker.. $250 well spent....

Ya, the Rems are still over a 1000fps and are noisy...not sure how they get the 'sub' title?

What are the steps to convert them to 12's?

Just like they said. CAREFULLY slide off the bottom cover, take that silver covered aluminium plug off the bottom of the spring, slide everything back in,clip the cover back in and good to go.

Save the plug. It might come in handy for something. :D :D :D

Everyone please keep reassuring me I haven't made a mistake going with the M&P line. STILL waiting on the state police to process my paperwork on the 22 (6 weeks now) and I can't find a mag for either it or my FS40anywhere w/o paying through the nose. Must admit I did pay through another orafice for one 22 as I can't imagine going to the range with the single mag they will provide. It's gonna be OK, right?

It will be ok. M&P 22 is awesome and with a little patience and diligent research you'll find mags. I got 2 last week from Jay's sporting goods in Gaylord, Michigan. Google em and give em a call. 31.00 each and about 10.00 shipping UPS were here in 3 days.

Your fine. :D

When I first started with the M&P semi-auto handgun line it was brand spanking new. I waited "forever" for the first one,a FS-9. Then you couldn't find mags (it's normal). They also had a $50. or two mags rebate going. I always opted for the mags (never enough mags :D). My fisrt FS 9 was a tack driver right out of the box and my wife also loved it. I ended up durring that rebate, ordering the Pro 9. Got a fantastic deal on the FS 9L and a 9c (bought them out of a "Glock Shop") that some "Gluck" freak backed out of. ...my lucky year. :D Liked them so much I replaced (retired) my Colt with a FS 45. Needles to say,I ended up with a 45 mid and c model too. Yes,I have M&P fever, the kids are grown and long gone :D retirement is coming :D. S&W started getting caught up on mags and my back orders started coming in... Then, about 6-8 months later ALL my rebate mags started coming in. YIKES !!!

I back ordered 22 mags when I got my M&P 22 and I got those mags mid winter. Got the 9 Shield last April and those 8rd mags last early winter and a couple more of both within the last month or so and I'm seeing more mags at the LGS's starting to stay longer. So,all things will get caught up. ...eventually. :D

Sorry, what was your question? Something about "please keep reassuring me I haven't made a mistake going with the M&P line".... :D :D :D I never looked back and would do it all over again. I shoot all the time and all my M&P handguns are well broken in,ZERO issues or problems with any of them. FWIW,I also CCW and trust the S&W brand with my life and the ones around me I watch out for. :D

The M&P22 is GREAT!!! Lotts'a fun, ammo is tight but try "gunbot.net" if you can sit next to a computer all day (it's addictive so be careful). Spent many hours in the last 2 weeks looking for mags - now have 6 from a local dealer that happened to pick up 20. By the time his order went in the qty went from 90+ to ZERO. Ebayers (I suspect) suck up a lot of the bulk buys for their gouging. That's capitalisim. I think the recent very high $90 - $120 price happened because:
1) Only 1 mag per gun sold from S&W; shoulda been 2
2) NY banning these mags April 15th
3) Gun control rumbling and shaking people up
3) The rush to buy has caused frantic buying & high prices

The Flip side is:
1) NRA & others suing New York/Cumo over gun control laws
2) Bill in senate has dropped "assault weapons" ban
3) Early panic buyers are loosing interest (my guess) and might be waiting for a price drop
4) Ebayers holding excess mags and need to start dumping them as the bottom falls out. Ohhh, so sad, but that's capitalism.

In the last few days I'm seeing the price of AR-15's drop at the retail level, the mags on ebay are coming off their highs down to $60 (and there are tons being listed now) and you may see panic price cutting soon. After all what good is it to have a stash of 50mags when you don't even own a gun. But that's capitalism.
