Thought I'd share my joy - I managed to nail a really nice Model 29-2 today at the gun show in Mesa, AZ. This 8 3/8"-barreled example shows absolutely no signs of having ever been fired. There are no marks from cartridge heads on the recoil plate, no etching of the topstrap over the barrel-cylinder gap, no evident holster wear, and no firing residue traces on the front of the cylinder. Unfortunately, no box, tools or instruction sheet came with it. I'll have to begin my search to locate the appropriate items. Here's a pic - pardon the slight wiping with an oily rag, but I think you can see the quality of the bluing.

It's all about condition,
and condition is all about your Mod 29-2!

It's great to find a LNIB ain't it?

Nice gun and good photography also. (I haven't invested in quality digital photog. equipment yet . . . anybody want to buy an old 35 mm?)Congratulations on your new toy.

Nice looking gun

I also have a 29-2 8 3/8 unfired with box along with a sister 27-2 8 3/8 with box and docs. The 29-2 has alittle rough spot in the bluing at the tip of the barrel from being left in the box for 20 years. I may shoot it.
Again. Nice gun.Brian

I found one of the long tube -2's in nickel a few weeks back,It is my first 8 3/8" er.It is interesting.

guess i bought something slightly unusual then. got one by accident with 3 or 4 small spots of surface rust. couldnt have a box of ammo run through it. dang it is accurate at a 100 yrds. no i didnt hit the beer can with 2 shots but i bet i scared it good. 2 in. miss.
