Over the weekend I picked up a 15-4 in Nickel. Orginal magna's, no box. I don't think it has ever been fired. Certainly was never cleaned!

So, I jump on the forum to look up some inf on Nickel 15-4's. This is my 1st.
Another thread caught my eye on the value of a blue 15-3.
A member gives good advice about dong a search on gunbroker for values. Ended auctions and those that are still open. I did this and about fell over in laughter over the 1st auction for the very Smith I picked up, just no box, knife and it did not come with Ben Franklins...LOL check it out.

If mine is worth half this then I am very happy!!

Congrats on your purchase.

I have 3 blued 15's and 1 nickle in my collection, so I can relate.

I saw that auction and like yourself, could not stop from laughing.

Need pics of that nickle plated sissy pistol....:D

With the knife and Bens, that would be a great deal!! :D

If I may, here's mine...

I wish mine was that clean! Who ever owned it did not take care of it. I have pitting and if you take the grips off you can clearly see a difference. In some places on the M15 it looks more like a SS than a nickel. I used a buffer on my drill and it did come cleaner than when I bought it. rust was found down the cylinder. cob webs and such. Crazy.

This is my first nickel...and I learned alot about the next one I purchase. I paid 300. I do know one thing, as far as 38's go I Really like the Model 15!!!!

I cant upload pix for whatever reason. Sorry guys.

I am truly amazed at how people take care of not only firearms, but the rest of their personal property.

Neglected,abused,mistreated.....

It is a shame for things to be treated that way. I understand battle scars from daily useage and such. Thin bluing from carry wear and all.

It just really bugs me I guess. I shoot most all of my guns and try to keep
them in top notch condition.

You got a good deal on that 15. Hopefully it is a fine shooter and you will
enjoy it for a long time.

Keep looking around. It seems not many folks care about the beautiful Model
15. That leaves more of them for us that do !!!

Sold it today. Made $40.00. I hated to do it for the fact that it was a near Factory fired M15, but the condition was just OK at best and I am just too dam picky about my S&W's.

Has anyone visited Rags post about his 2 Model 27's? That is what I am talking about!! (search Drum roll)
