The title pretty much says it. I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet but here She is (it was a gift from my amazing wife for quitting smoking).

The first thing I did was add a little orange nail polish to the front sight so I could pick it up more quickly and it really seems to work:

I also love the fluting on the cylinder And the unique extractor star:

The trigger pull feels lighter than my S&W 642-1 trigger but is a bit longer trigger pull. The grip that comes with the Ruger is honestly the best feeling boot grip I have heals, but since this is a .22 magnum, I may end up adding some wood or G10 grips. I personally love the sights on this gun since I added a bit of orange to the front sight. I may end up getting a night sight installed just for fun. When I end up getting my ccw I will probably end up carrying this quite often (as long as it ends up being reliable and accurate) because it seems to conceal on me better than my 642 or any other gun I own aside from my NAA Mini Mag. The gun fits into the cargo pocket of my tru spec duty pants and slips right into the magazine pocket inside of it and completely shields the trigger and trigger guard from anything in the pocket. And it manages to not jump my knee in any way while walking or jogging. That impressed me.

For a rimfire, I am very impressed with it, especially since it is designed off of a centerfield frame. Some people think the 6 round capacity is a downside. I used to own a Taurus 941 (kind of wish I didn't sell it) and it had an 8 round capacity. Unfortuneatly, it broke the transfer has on its first range outing and would never eject spent casings without slamming the casings out 1 by 1. From what I have heard, this is not a problem with the LCR because it has less rounds needing to be extracted once. While the .22lr version has 8 rounds. I personally didn't like loading the 941. It was crammed together and nothing ever seemed to work smooth. Plus the trigger pull measured 16 lbs on my scale. The LCR trigger is delightful and honestly more useable than my factory 642 trigger

The factory black sights really sick. Its very hard to see the front in low light so I changed that. Made a world of a difference. It is also extremely light.

I'll post more once I get to the range with it, but, until then, keep shooting...

Here's a pic of the serpa holster for a J frame that I modified to fit my Ruger LCR

I rented one at a local range last year and found it pleasant to shoot and accurate for a pocket gun. A forum member in my area has one listed in the classifieds and I am sorely tempted. I think with some shot shells up first and Gold Dots in the last 4 chambers it would be a great fishing companion: defense against legless and legged vermin alike.

Congrats on the wife...and the new LCR!

I'll be interested to hear how it shoots. The rimfire versions are supposed to have heavier triggers to ensure reliable strikes. From what I've read the the 22 LR version is borderline ridiculous but the 22Mag is pretty good.

I just picked up the LCR 357 that my wife picked out for her to purse carry when traveling without me. She tried a bunch of different handguns on for size at the store but picked the LCR 38 but I insisted on ordering the 357 model to mitigate recoil with the extra weight. I picked it up yesterday, changed out the front sight for a XS standard dot, and ran it through its paces today to test function before she shoots it. She will run the the Hornady CD Lites 38 90 grain bullets which shot very nicely if I say so myself. I am confident she will be able to shoot it with reasonable comfort. Now, I also shot some 38 158 grain loads that I shoot through my GP100, and those you definitely feel. Not bad but definitely a significant step from the CD Lites in felt recoil. No way she would enjoy shooting those at all.

I say all that to say this...I'm considering getting a LCR 22 Mag for her to practice with and for me to plink with or even serve as a kit gun. But, I don't know if I'd get one if the trigger is significantly heavy. So again, I look forward to your shootings impressions, especially the trigger comfort and control.

Congrats again and enjoy!

I can tell you right off the bat, that my LCR has a lighter feeling trigger than the S&W 642-1 that I own, and I can pull the trigger much quicker with the LCR even though it has a longer pull. I also like how well the trigger stages. It's very easy to hold it right at the break. I can't wait to shoot some groups tomorrow to post up here. I Even put .22 cal on my Exposed firearms permit just for the heck of it when I am doing light vehicle duty. No duty belt, just a gun belt, serpa holster canted for crossdraw, handcuffs, collapsible baton, and pepper spray, and sometimes a Taser. Plus I would prefer it for when I am working the protests. They are way more crowded and I just feel way more comfortable and confident with a gun I can fire more accurately with less recoil. And I'll probably never have to use it because they are all passiveists. But I am generally just holding a camera and surrounded by actual cops anyways hahaha.
