I thought I would post some pictures and see if I can elicit some help finding a proper black Performance Center gun rug for this 686.

Does anyone have one for sale?

I replaced the original rubber Uncle Mike's grips with these factory Combats:

Nice - aside from my Commander, that is my idea of the perfect carry gun. AWESOME.

Very nice find, are the night sites still hot?
One of the neatest packages to come from the PC, congrats.

Thanks to all for the comments; this is a nice revolver. It is quite well-balanced and the trigger pull is very smooth.

JD 500, I see from your earlier posts that you are looking for some N Frame Combats. If I could remember where each of my stocks came from, I'd be a genius (I'm not). Keep looking locally and on the Internet and you'll find yours.

SmithNut, yes, as you know (do I remember correctly that you have one of these as well?), this model has Tritium sights both front and rear, and the sights on this revolver (manufactured in 1995) retain probably 75% of their original intensity.

I find it of interest that one of the sought-after features of the regular production 686-4's (the forged, case-hardened hammer and trigger set) is not used on this PC offering from the same time period.

P35fan,
The parts on your gun are truly forged, but the earlier guns were properly done as flash chromed finish. It's the forged that's sought after, preferred over MIM. However forged parts were found with a flash chromed finish on early stainless guns (up to the mid 90's), with the Performance Center continuing to use that finish a bit longer than the regular production guns.
Neat gun for sure.
Yes, I have one as well, mine is still putting off light as well. Originally mine wore the Eagle Secret Service Boot grips(see below) , but now mine wears Spegels when it's out in public.

Seriously, if anyone has one for sale please PM me. Already posted this in the wanted section.

Thanks,

I had a chance at one of these last year for $550. Talked myself out of it due to the port.
I know... mistake.
