Here are some pictures of my early J Frame set that I recently finished.I have a pre 36,37,38,40 and 42 pictured.I also included my Baby Chiefs with the Half Round front sight,Smooth Ramp(Nickel) and the serrated Ramp with Mother of Pearl Stocks.All of the Guns are 100% complete and numbers matching,The Stocks for the serrated Baby Chief are in the Safe

Quite an excellent set of scarce revolvers!


From a photography standpoint, are you by a window and/or do you have bulbs of two different temperatures?

Nope no alloy Cylinders for me.It is just a varaition of the pre 37 that does not interest me very much.I have a third light from the top that I use that is a little more blue than the Two side lights.If I don't have light from the top the pictures turn out muddy and dark.

I have to tell you this is a tremendous collection; real nice. I need to get a Baby Chief with smooth ramp front sight. Nice job.

That's a beautiful collection. Each one is a gem. I like the 40 and the smooth ramp nickel the best.

On a practical note, I wish they still used the flat thumb-latches on the J-frames...

The later flat latches where great,The very early oval ones are hard to use.
