Here is one of my grandmother with the only deer she ever killed. She was a cook at a hunting camp in the Adirondacks and she shot this one with my grnadfather's .30-30 while all the men were out hunting that day. (None of them got any deer). No the deer isn't really that big, she was only 4'8".
The second pic is of my grandfather in a picture dated October 1936, notice the rifle, same one my grandmother used many years later.

Looks like a much smaller rifle in your grandfathers hands.....thanks for sharing.
 
Enjoyed the pics very much. Thanks for posting! That pic of your grandfather from October 1936 was especially interesting to me, as that was the year and month my parents were married. The car helps to date the photo, but the Winchester could never do that!
