I have some hanging/swinging circular steel targets that are approximately 7" diameter, 8", and 12". Is there a regulation size for a pie plate target? Not a big deal.......just wonderin'.

Paper Pie Plates are generally 8" or 9".

The NRA has SUGGESTED to NRA INSTRUCTORS to take a 9"

paper plate, DRAW A 1/2" BORDER around the INSIDE EDGE,

this makes an 8" scoring area, then draw a 1 1/2" border around

the outside edge and this makes a 6" scoring area.

I used a TEMPLATE and a MAGIC MAKER to do this.

The NRA was suggesting the use of these

FOR CONSISTENCY around the country on initial Concealed Carry or Shooting Competency testing.

I believe they suggested shooting from 15 feet.

Buy the cheapest 9" paper plates you can find, in bulk, then using a round 2" template fill in the center with a red or black magic marker. You can put up 1/2 a dozen on your target stand, saving trips downrange. You won't find targets any cheaper and they can be recycled.

Been using them for years- & the six inch ones. Last ones I got, some 10+ years ago was a WHOLE case at an auction that came from Costco-- never counted, but would guess maybe 1000 in the case. :) Have a WIDE Sharpie, as sold in packing stores and will draw a circle around the center, maybe 6"s around. :)

paper plates (use dirty ones)

Here is a picture of a paper plate that I shot at 10 yards when I tried out my newly purchased 37 a few years ago. Little did I know that the plate would leak gravy all over my new recliner. Best to use dirty ones then burn them afterwards. :D
Peace,
Gordon
