Pistol Grips on the 15-22

I have an adjustable Command Arms Accessories (CAA) UPG16 Grip. Rubberized Front and Rear Pads for comfort. You get 3 Front and 3 Rear Pads, so you can adjust your fit.

I prefer the old A1 grip, although they take a little chasing down. What some may not know is that if you take the old rubber M1 carbine mag covers and heat them up with a hair dryer, they will fit nicely on the bottom of those grips and give you an almost waterproof storage compartment. Just an old GI fix but they work like they were made for it.

Get a Hogue. EXTREMELY comfortable, goes on with no problems.

NOTICE:

When changing your pistol grip, be VERY careful because a tiny spring will most likely fall out. Don't lose this, it is necessary for the selector switch to work properly.

I went with the Tango Down Battlegrip myself. Install was simple and I am a fan of adding storage to a rifle. Plus I am not a fan of finger grooves or ledges so the swooped design of the grip was perfect and feels great in my hand while I'm shooting.

I have always liked Pachmayr grips for my guns, but for this one I went with Tac Star. Tac Star and Pachmayr are owned by the same company, their advertising suggests that they are now sharing designs. This Tac Star set feels as good as some of my Pachmayr's on other guns, but was about half the price. Huge improvement over stock.

This pic shows a Pachmayr on the Mossberg, and Tac Star front and rear grips on the 15-22.

Magpul makes a spacer that will fill the gap. Its purely cosmetic though. Here's a pic of mine with the MOE grip without the spacer. I'm not sure how well you can see the gap in this pic but its not really that noticable. There are some good videos on youtube that will walk you through the steps of changing your grip if you still need help with that.

My PC model had a Hogue grip on it. It was ok but not near as good as the Ergo I replaced it with. The Ergo is softer but not flexing and sticks to your hand regardless of sweat on your hands. Also tried the Ergo overmolded w/palmshelf that is going on my 3-gun AR and I liked that a lot but put the regular Ergo back on the AR15-22.

MOE+ here (in foliage green).

Loved the MOE I had previously, but also liked the feel of the Hogue that was on the Ruger SR22 at my gun club. The MOE+ is a great combination of both, and the original MOE is now on the 'Bay...

Thanks for this thread

I installed my MAID and the spring dropped. 20 min later of stuffing, super glue, filing flat the MAID works fine.

Had a Houge, was ok, wanted the MAID because that is what I have on my M&P Sport. MAID has great inserts for things like 123 batteries.

Photoracer, clean out your inbox. Have some Q's for you.
Got my G trigger today.
Sorry to interrupt the thread here, carry on. Nothing to see here.

I put a Hogue grip on my 15-22 and it fit like it was suppose to, and it fits my hand perfect!

I agree, I just put one on mine and really like the feel of it vs the stock grip. But I must admit, if I had not read the thread about the two springs, I probably would still be crawling around on the carpet looking for them.
