It takes a special kind of cowardly, vile cretin to punch an innocent, defenseless woman in the face.
If the other waitress wasn't packing, how far would this creep have gone?

According to the report, the restaurant's owner allows carrying with a permit. Quoting from the article:

"According to local media, the victim is back at work and she said the restaurant’s owner allows employees to carry a concealed weapon as long as they have a permit."

Never point a gun at someone unless you intend to use it. She should've just shot the punk and been done with it. No way to miss at that distance. Or thrown a pot of hot oil in his face or something. He shouldn't have been able to walk out of that place.

She stopped the attack and drove the attacker into a full retreat from the premises without firing a shot. I've no doubt if "she" felt she had no choice, she would've pressed that trigger. Street justice aside, she kept her cool, took command, did a great job, and won without having to endure any aftermath nightmare.

P.S. In today's politically driven social climate I applaud the restaurant owner for allowing responsible employees with ccw permits to carry on the job.

The no guns crowd will probably be boycotting the restaurant in 3, 2, 1...

She should have pulled the trigger who's to say he wasn't going to punch her too. He's already committed the assault so as Nike sneakers would "Just do it.

No way of telling the presence of the gun stopped the threat until the perp actually left. I'd say she had tremendous control.

She did a great job. The attacker stopped when he saw the gun and went into retreat. Not pulling the trigger was the right choice. She seemed to see the threat developing, created some distance and appeared to be aware of where the other worker was before pointing the gun.

Had the shot him, she'd have ended his life JUST as he was about to turn it around. Gosh.

These were my thoughts. She used the force necessary to stop the attack.

She also managed to disprove to common arguments I’ve heard gun control advocates say about defensive gun use.
- It was not an argument situation where the gun unnecessarily escalated a situation. The gun owner stopped an assault
- A woman successfully used a gun against a man without being disarmed, hurt, or having the gun used against her.

That lady showed a lot more restraint than a lot of us probably would have. She avoided a lot of after shooting problems. I do agree that a pot of boiling oil would have improved that lowlifes looks. Hats off to that lady!

A concealed carry permit allows you to have the means of defending yourself and others. It does not authorize you to punish evil-doers or enforce the law.

Far as I can see, she did everything right.

The attack was over when she presented the gun. Pulling the trigger at that point, no longer sel def, yeah pretty sure she ends up in jail. Sad but true.
