Pistol Rest Universal

Been busey in my workshop and came up with this with Ideas gathered on the Web. Hope the photo attaches first try. Had it at the Range Wed. could of taken orders.
This is the Pistol I drilled and tapped for the Weaver Rail. No problems and I did not expect any. But thanks for all the Comments and Concerns.

I think that is pretty cool! How is the side to side balance? Does it wobble at all? Did you make a set of plans?

It is not intended to be a Vice but a Rest. It is very stable, No plans since I made it by my design, Just took ideas off the internet, I only use it to do sighting in. but Cheat with it also. I also put a scope on my 22 Cal, 96A and used it as a rest. Indoor Range As soon as some cool weather sets in I will return to Range # 14, Fort Dix. for some long distance Shooting, Anyone else care to come.

Cool beans Ill surf the net but look fairly easy to make! I knew it wasn't a vice but to sight in a pistol or rifle that looks perfect! And now to know it is stable I will have to make one Thanks a project for this retired old fart to do

I like it. I have been using a V shaped shoot bag on an adjustable stand that I use for the forearm of my rifles. But, your setup is much nice for hand guns. Going to be a wood project in the shop because I want one like yours.

I used leftover 3/4 Oak from stair treads I came across, Never used the word scrap. Base 14"X5" Little stand 3"H Top 3"X2 1/2" mine is 3 pcs has 3/8- 2 1/2"bolt hole for the adjustment with Pad, drilled and tapped Front rest sides 3"x4" Back Cut to fit between sides V board rug padding 8" H and cut to fit snug in between Rear guides. I slotted the back with router 3" travel for 5 1/16 Bolt with the wingnut. The measurements are what came for the wood i had on hand. The photos should help some. OH drill hole in the V board as low as the bottom of the slot for max travel. Good Luck
