I knew about Plainfield carbines but not pistols. Found a little info on-line they came with all the parts necessary to shoot both .22 and .25. Found one sold on GB:

Plainfield Ordnance Model 71 22LR & 25 ACP in box! : Semi Auto Pistols at GunBroker.com

The rear sight pivots on the pin and is spring loaded. The rounded top piece under the sight slides out two were in the kit I'm sure it was one for each caliber.

I only got the .22 parts with mine the firing pin in the .22 slide is offset to the side.

I ran one magazine thru it, had one malfunction. Accuracy, well depends on how close you are to the target.

A good cleaning and lube will probably help.

Most places I find info on them mentions rumors about being made for the CIA. I'm not waiting with bated breath to find proof of that one.

I don't think I'll spend any time looking for it.:D It is a deceptive weapon for it's size, if it jammed it's heavy enough to take out someone. I have to remember to weigh it.

It looks good and solid, alright. Does it look as good on the inside as it does on the outside?
You might try running CCI Mini-Mags thru it. Helped my
Escort, anyway.

I haven't taken it down yet should have done that before trying it. Good idea about the ammo I will try some.
