OK, I imagine this is a long shot, but does anyone do or know of someone who repairs player piano actions/components? I have one made in 1913, really nice shape, but needs a good bit of TLC.
Thanks

I've got a Baldwin Player Piano ( I believe it to be from the 1950's ) that I bought used 20 years ago and repaired myself. Most of what was wrong with it was just broken rubber hoses and un-lubricated parts. It took me a few days but after replacing most of the hoses and lubing everything it worked great. Now I need to do it all over again. It seems the less these pianos get used the more they have problems.

As long as the motor and air pump are properly working, most likely the hoses and poor lubrication are the culprits just in case you want to have a go at it.

Yes - many years ago I knew a guy who described himself as a piano technician and he did all kinds of work on every type of piano, including restoration of player pianos (I think he also worked on organs). He told me most of the player piano problems were as the result of rotten tubing, etc., and fairly easily replaced. I'd try a DIY effort first. That guy did a magnificent job on piano wood refinishing, a real craftsman.

Don't remember I bought it from, but the rubber tubing was available in 100 foot rolls and not that expensive. I'll have to look again in the Fall as mine is in need of new rubbers also.
