This is not a safe queen.

I've been asked to give the gentleman a fair offer.

I want to be fair to him and to me.

His phone photos aren't studio quality, but I believe you can get an idea.

Thank you.

Alan, I was on the fence about the Cokes. But now that you mention it,
they dont look bad, but would need way more pics. We all look for those nice pointed diamonds in the field. And a bottom view of that nice oval shape seals it. Still $750 for both parties would be fair.

From the almost invisible turn line and clean cut stop notches, I would say that M27 has hardly been shot! I think the stocks are earlier than the gun, so probably a bonus replacement of the Magna stocks it probably shipped with.

So, I'd say around a $1000, or maybe a bit more. A good cleaning and some wax and it will look much better!

Oh, by the way, I have a Model 29-2 that has an S282xxx serial that I bought new in early 1968.

Ok, if you owned it, how many of you would sell it for $1000? The cokes are $500-$700 by themselves and it is an S sn 3.5 inch 27-2. Shooter grade for sure but where I shop there is no way I'd find one for $1000 wearing rubber grips much less a decent set of cokes.

To wit, when was the last time anyone here listed a 27-2 remotely like this for less than $1k here on the forum for sale? Safe to say, not this decade and probably well longer than that.

$750??!! YGBSM.

Nobody on this forum would take less than $1000 if that were their gun with magnas, much less Cokes.

As noted, the stocks alone are worth at least $500. Hard to tell on the gun with the pics provided, but it looks like it might clean up nice. When was the last time anyone saw an S numbered 3.5" M27 for less than $1000 that still had most of it's original finish?

+1. Overall a nice and very desirable 3-1/2" Model 27-2 from about 1967 wearing Cokes. Sure, the finish shows some wear, but there's hardly a turn line on the cylinder. Even the SCSW 4th Ed. adds value premiums for early S-prefix 27-2s and for 3-1/2" bbl. The "GA diamond center checkered Coke Bottle stocks with extractor relief cut" are original and in very nice condition. I'm thinking $1400 at a gun show, but $1200 might be the buddy price.

If that was my gun I wouldn't take a penny under $1500.00! I would think that that would be a very good deal for somebody. With the Coke grips, and a S series 3 1/2" Model 27 l would be happy to buy it at that price as well. But, then again the 3 1/2" Magnum or the later Model 27 Is my favorite Model Smith & Wesson.

The OP admitted this gun was not a safe queen. And we got to view four pics from a cell phone. Its a run of the mill shooter grade M-27. If it had been on the table of a show or shop, you could do a hands on inspection.
