Please Reintroduce Mountain Gun

I know it will never happen, but I'd love to see a 5 shot N Frame 454 mountain gun. Something to compete with the Super Redhawk Alaskan. 45 Colt is one of my favorite rounds to shoot and to reload for, due to its versatility from cream puff to full on wrist breaker. I like the ability to shoot some super hot loads on occasion, and that's just not possible in the 25/625 like it is in the Rugers.

What exactly makes one a mountain gun?

Typically it has a four inch barrel. No more than four, but, I am not sure if there were any shorter.

The barrel is tapered right off the frame. Not a 'heavy' barrel.

And, the billboard on the side of the barrel that says, "Mountain Gun". :D

Here is one of my S&W Model 617-6 Mountain Guns.

enjoy,

4" tapered barrel and the front edge of the cylinder is chamfered.

I love Mountain Revolver/Guns.

Great defender against bears and back home loaded with specials, two legged varmints as well. Classic gun.

What about the 386 Mountain Lite L-frame with the alloy frame, titanium cylinder and 3 1/8 inch barrel? 7 rounds of .357, easy to carry and the grip frame just the right size to handle the recoil. Not a target gun for sure.

I do not have either to weigh, but as I recall, the 4" Model 29 is about 44 ounces, and the stainless Mountain Gun was around 39 ounces. My guess is roughly 5 ounces difference.

A blued MG chambered in 45 ACP would be nice. I have the fixed sighted version, the Model 22-4.
