Please Return My Brownells Flex Hones

Well I loned my flex hones out to several forum members & they traveled around the country being used mostly on 940s & some 38/357s to try an help sticky cylinders along the way I lost touch to were they are & now they are all but lost..
I've contacted every email address that ever had them within the last 3-4 months & can't find them.. Sorry for the emails but I had to try and find them..
If any one has these hones please contact me..
I don't currently need them but get emails frequently asking if they can be used mostly by new 940 owners..

I have several guys that would love to use them
It'll help too, not with all ammo but makes the holes smoother & extraction easier..
They worked great on the rough cylinders of my Dan Wesson too, 9mm/38spl/357mag/30Luger..
I had/have the medium & fine grit + The special oil lubricant, which I still have a pint of here at the house, I was sending a small oil bottle filled with it for folks to mail easier.

Does this cure ALL sticking problems? I sometimes get sticky extraction and I have learned that this is due to brass quality and/or high pressures. The gun works fine with all standard pressure ammo EXCEPT reloads with A-Merc brass. Even at standard velocities these will need to be pounded out of the cylinder. Everybody knows that A-Merc brass is inferior but nonetheless I can't help but wonder if polishing the chambers will eliminate this problem with the cheapo brass. I also tried some factory loaded Cor-Bon +P+ (unknown bullet weight but it looked to be very light) and one round of this stuff would lock up the cylinder. Using high quality brass and Power Pistol I find that I can load 124 gr. jacketed bullets to 1160 FPS (and counting) with no extraction problems whatsoever. Do you still have sticky extraction with factory ammo loaded to +P+ pressures?

David Sinko No not all sticking cases were cured by honeing, If you have an eye loupe look inside each of your 940s Cylinder throat holes
You'll see reamer marks left by the reamer, I think Smith had a bad batch of cylinders because of a bad reamer or incorrect coolant was used while this process was done, I'll try and find some old photos I had of my earliest 940 cylinder Before & After Honeing & also after I had Dave Manson ream the cylinder to 38 Super, A picture is worth a Thousand words..
You are also correct that very Hot = +P+ roands
tend to stick or back up in the cylinder, This varies with ammo manufacture, I also tend to believe that some brass is weaker & tends to bulge out in the cylinder holes more than others
My Reamed 38 Super Cylinder still will not shoot Winchester White Box Value Pack ammo without the sticking case problem..
It could also be the finish that is inside that helps the tapered round cling to the cylinder, also the 940 headspaces off of the moon clips even though there is a shelf for the rounds to sit on when used without the moon clips, I luckily while TK MOON CLIPS offered .040" thick clips I ordered 40 of them for the S&W 940 & Ruger SP101 9mm, I notice now there moon clips are marked .035" thick? This does increase headspace but these moon clips are much beefier than the factory ones & don't tend to warp or bind, I have never tried 9mm Ruger SP101 moons in my 940 but will order a few batches from them if/when my MKII or 10/22 ever needs any parts.. There Clips grab the round from the outside & the rounds are very loose fitting in the Ruger Moon Clips??
All these variable can/will change the way the 940 acts when fired..
Also I have never had any sticking cases in my Model 547 & think that it's extra firing pin that strikes the case to push it forward while firing may be the answer to why, But the 547s cylinder bores are beautifull when compaired to the 940.. More Variables..
I need to get to the range & test several different ammos in both my 940s & 547..
I'm having trouble even finding any ammo at a decent price now days.. Even 22lr..
Let me dig through my old computer & get the pics of the cylinder bores of the 940..

Everyone I've ever dealt with on this Gun Forum has been 100% outstanding & trust them greatly..
I would have never thought that someone would barrow the hones & not contact me back afterwards??
They were sent so many different places that I actualy lost track of them, I had them back in my hands around Christmas when I honed my 2nd 940s cylinder..
Hopefully They'll show back up..

30 years as a mechanic taught me to NEVER loan out tools. They always seemed to get lost or damaged and people would never take responsibility...

I just wanted to say that I greatly appreciate your generosity in loaning these tools to strangers. They made a significant difference in the performance of my 940 on ejection.

I hope they soon turn up and are forwarded to their proper home. I personally don't understand people who barrow valuable tools and don't return them. I assume they were loaned to someone who loaned them to someone else and the link to the original owner was lost. Or perhaps, someone has damaged or destroyed them and doesn't want to own up to it.

Good luck and thanks for sharing them. Perhaps those of us who used them and benefited should chip in to replace them.

I'll have to say that for the most the folks on this & most other Gun forums are very outstanding people who would never do something like this on Purpose??
I just read in the Gunsmithing section were a guy is having etraction problems with just one cylinder hole in a 38 Spl & if I had the hones they'd be on there way to help him out..
The Flex hones leave a cross hatched pattern that is hard to duplicate without the propper tool..
A split shaft 1/4" dowel with wet/dry sandpaper can also be used in a rough cylinder with 400/600/1000 grit paper & a bit of oil with your variable speed drill..
But the tapered case of the 9mm would be best with a flex hone IMO..

What's worse I'm thinking about getting a 940 cylinder for my 642 to make up a "942" & would love to have these hones to smooth out the chambers before installing it in the revolver..
Guess I could always use a split shaft & some fine grit silica carbide sandpaper & oil..
