Pocket Carry Options for Snub Nose or Other Guns of That Size

442 or LCR357 is always in a Uncle Mikes #4 pocket holster in my pocket. ALWAYS!

Had a fellow order a back pocket holster. We went back and forth on the design and came up with this;

It's for a right rear pocket and you drew the gun by hooking the grip with the thumb of your right hand. Didn't work too well for me but the client liked it.

This never happens with my Galco. The smooth side faces the gun, and the rough side is against the pocket. That is usually enough to make the holster stay put. It also has "hooks" on both sides, so even if it starts to come up with the gun on draw, one of the "hooks" catches one or both edges of the pocket.

A little thread drift - where did you get those grips?

When I pocket carry, it s a 642 in a DeSantis Nemesis. One factor often overlooked is the need to match the shape of the bottom of the holster to the shape of the pocket. A flat bottomed holster, like the Nemesis, with a sharply pointed pocket will tip the top of the gun forward. Conversely, a holster without much support, which my Uncle Mike's became in a few months, will tend to tip back on a flat bottomed pocket.

I usually carry a bigger revolver but,when I pocket carry its either a m36,m10,or m64 all snubs...any of them fit fine in a Blackhawk size 1 pocket holster...some fine looking holsters here however

I usually carry my 642 or Nano in a Desantis Superfly as a bug in my left front pocket. My primary is IWB on my right side hip at the 4 o'clock position. I do this for two reasons, first, I carry my cell on my right side forward of the holster to help prevent printing and second it's just plain more comfortable than having all the weight on one side.

I use the Galco pocket holster for my 37 and found it takes a bit to get the holster out of my pocket so don't figure it'll ever come out with the gun.
I'm pretty happy with it after I found my Uncle Mike's pocket holster sort of molded to my gun shape and came out of my pocket with the gun. I also learned from someone here on the forum that it was made in Vietnam. Sure enough it was although an older one says USA on the tag.

Probably my best pocket holster is the Galco Horsehide for my 642, but I actually use the Remora more often. The Remora works fine in the pocket, but can also be moved to an IWB position where it also works very well and essentially stays put. That versatility gives it the edge to be used daily. I also carry a Ruger LC9s pretty often, and the Remora works well for that slightly larger, but thinner gun. When I am wearing a longer shirt outside of my pants, or a jacket, I prefer carrying OWB with my Bianchi holster.

I second the Remora, works well as a pocket holster and IWB. Strangely it stays put IWB without any help of a belt. Stickiest holster I've ever seen.
Forum member Erich, whose sig line was stolen :D;):p, turned me onto Remora years ago.

It's hard to beat the DeSantis Nemesis for pocket carry. It's stays put when you pull Roscoe and it is VERY comfortable and light weight. It breaks up the lines of a gun and make it look like nothing more than a wallet. I also like that fact that the synthetic construction does not allow body swear to get on the gun. They are only around $22 bucks and last for years before they get raggy.
