Pocket Carry

One thing to consider with a Sticky type holster (I have a Soft Armor #3 for J frame)... you can use it as a pocket holster, and in a couple seconds take it out and stick it AIWB if you want, which works better for sitting, driving, or fast walking in loose shorts. You can even move it over crossdraw if you like that, and have whatever angle you want.

I've found that the perfect pocket carry pistol (for me) is the Remington RM380 in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. All metal frame and fits my needs perfectly. It's also the most pleasant little .380 I've ever fired. You can find them cheap and they are way more reliable than most people would believe coming from Remington. I have over 600 rounds through mine with ZERO malfunctions of any kind.

I also sometimes pocket carry a S&W 442. Just picked up a Sig P365, but haven't tried to pocket carry that one just yet. I'll have to get back to you on that. Pretty sure I'll end up carrying the Sig OWB.
the RM380 is easiest to rack of any of my .380's. i've seen very few negative reports on the RM380. mine have been 100% reliable. At approx $250 they are a bargain.

I don't think people on this forum invented it.

Well, I know I started pocket carrying about 10 years ago, which is several years before I discovered this forum. My father pocket carried a NAA .22 LR revolver for at least 20 years until he went into assisted living a couple of years ago.

I still pocket carry every day, though I often add a larger revolver on my belt when I leave the house.

I agree that it's not perfect, but for me there is no style of carry more comfortable than carrying a J frame in my front pocket.

I got mine for $89 after a $100 mail in rebate. It's literally the cheapest firearm I've ever bought. And I trust my life with it.

I like the pocket holsters by Pocket Concealment Systems, like this one for a Seacamp. The magazine helps break up any gun-like outline, and it is nice to have it handy.

My CCW/BUG is a M438. I use a Mika pocket holster, a Galco belly band
or a Galco ankle glove. I have used a Barami hip grip, but not recently.

I pocket carry a Bodyguard 380 or a Shield 9MM. If I was only allowed one I would choose the Shield.

I have a Sig P238 that I carry when my Beretta PX4 Sub Compact in 9 mm is too big .. Will easily fit in a shirt pocket, pants pocket or a coat pocket ..

I have a leather jacket with a zippered cell phone pocket on the front and it is easily concealed in it with a cut out piece of cardboard in the front side of pocket to eliminate any showing of its outline .. Is also very easily appendix carried with the holster that comes with it new ..

Another vote for the M&P Bodyguard 380. (this is S&W forum afterall!)
It is small, light(15oz) and thin. Holds 6+1 , the 2nd magazine is tiny and easy to carry in another pocket. 13 rounds of 380acp goodness!
mine has been wicked awesome!

I just picked up a Glock 42 .380 for trying semi auto again for pocket carry. I'm not a fan of .380 for SD but the 7 rounds plus another 6 in back up mag and a quicker reload makes it appealing. Problem I'm having growing to like it is finding the right pocket holster as well as its not as smooth to draw as my SW 640 I usually pc. I'm still practicing, unloaded of course...

SC_Mike - That is why I stopped pocket carrying any form of auto. I tried for awhile with my glock 26 but found that the rear of the slide would snag coming out, so I had to use a modified grip to draw it, then shift into a firing grip to shoot it.

Conversely, I've found that any revolver (even a large "bloodwork" style N frame if your pockets are large enough) will clear the pocket much faster because the shape of the frame helps guide the pocket up and around the top of the gun.

I have settled on carrying my 649 daily for about a year now, all other guns go AIWB if I want something else for the day.

I'm not a big dans of strickers for Pockets except in a vest...
I carried a PPK for a long time but it's a little to big, so I took a LCP. Actually I carry in the very big hot summer à TPH loaded with stinger but I'm going to change for a J frame.

just too many options and not enough information from you. do you wear skinny jeans, regular jeans, slacks, or casual docker types? is your waist larger than your inseam? this will determine how much "baggage" you have. if your gut measures 4" or more than your inseam you will have enough bagginess in your pockets to hide more gun.

once you know what type of pants and pockets you will be wearing regularly, you can now figure out which gun/holster combo will work best for you.
