Don't take offense, there's probably not that many guys using the Uncle Mikes for the Shield. Those guys carrying in their pocket seem to be leaning more toward the Nemisis, and as for myself, I'm using a Sticky Holster MD-2.

Good Luck and good shooting. :D

No offense, I seemed to have posted in wrong section, was unaware of that, I want it more to protect it when in truck etc. May carry it in coat in the um in cold weather.

^+1 on the Sticky MD-2. Use a Crossbread Supertuck when going out though.

The 3 I've used are (in order of use):
Galco Pocket Protector (For the G26 / PPS)
Remora with Reinforced Top & Sweat Guard
DeSantis Pocket-Tuk - Leather Pocket holster with a removeable 360 degree Clip (allows it to double as an IWB as well)

Of course... The Remora (or Sticky Holster) could double as IWB holsters too.

Now I understand, if you're using it as a glove box holster, Uncle Mikes is inexpensive and should work fine.

Just FYsI,

I got an awesome deal on a pocket holster @ Walmart... they have some Blackhawk holsters on the shelf, including an awesome "Size 4" inside-the-pocket holster for Glocks 26/27, Kahr PM9, and most other subcompact 9/40s ... which I figured I'd try with the Shield and if no go, return.

Well I have carried in that pocket holster for the last month now... I spent all my money last month acquiring the Shield (and then spent more I didn't want to spend lol on the M&P22C !!) so I couldn't buy a nice holster, but for $10.97 it has ALREADY paid itself off.

Just FYIs

Here's a couple of photos of my Shield 9 in an Uncle Mikes size 4 pocket holster and a Sticky size MD1 pocket holster.

I bought one of these and it's perfect for pocket carrying my Shield. When I draw from my pocket, the weapon comes out clean and clear. The holster stays in the pocket. I find that I'm carrying like this more than 60% of the time as opposed to OWB or IWB.

I've used a Mike's #4 for the Shield and it performed OK. The only issue I had was that the sharp top edge of the rear sight cut a hole in the pocket of the cargo shorts I was using. Moving to a Sticky MD4 solved that problem, as I suspect (but have not tried) the next size up of a Mikes would do. YMMV

I'll check for a size but I prefer to put the shield in the one for my sigma (glock 19 size) as it covers the rear sight. It's not for a quick draw but keeps the sights from snagging on things or getting banged up

I forgot to add that part, absolutely right. Basically everytime I draw, the holster stays right in the pocket and the gun presents itself clear. Which is huge. I mean how much can you ask for from a $11 holster other than working perfectly?

I do want a "real" holster, If Alien Gear didn't take so long I'd order (another) one of them, Cross Breed is just a little expensvie, etc. but one day I will get one of these real ones, but for now, pocket carrying has been fine. And I AM NO BIG GUY, so If I CAN do it, I cannot see how others can't pocket carry it.
