What is the smallest for a .38 "Air weight"? I have a "Krammer" it works fine, but makes quite a big lump in the pocket.

can't speak specifically to your .38 but I recently ordered a Mika pocket holster for a CS9 after reading all the positive reviews on this site. It arrived in the mail 4 days ago, I've been very pleased with the fit and function. Resides firmly in the pocket when gun is drawn, completely eliminates gunprint, appears if anything as a wallet. Lots of comments about Mika's on this forum, a search may yield more info on wheelgun applications. I'm very happy with my purchase, only took a little over two wks from order to delivery. Good luck.

Currently use A DeSantis Nemisis N38 for my J frame 442-1. No imprint, doesn't move around or shift in the pocket and allows a clean draw. Pocket is not my preferred carry but is sometimes necessary. The Nemisis is great.

galco makes a great pocket holster for j frames, they are made out of horsehide and really seem to stay in your pocket well. They hold up well too, I have used mine now for several years and it is just now starting to break in right....

I use the Tuff Products "Tuff-a-roo" and am very pleased with it. It's got a place to carry a loaded speed strip so it's quite handy for carrying your gun with a reload.

I had a Don Hume that I liked alot. I used it with my Model 36, didn't print at all and it had a bit of a hook to keep the holster in my pocket when the gun was drawn.

I purchased a Taurus Lght-Wgt .38sp and have a cross-draw and SS Yaqui belt slide for it. It fits nicely in the jacket or pants pocket w/o printing. The idea of lint-dirt, not being able to grip it securely due to wiggling around in your pocket is way over-blown....Bottom line, I'm not crazy about any pocket holster especially if you had to draw from the seated position.

I have worked out a $20 solution for concealed carry. Uncle Mikes pocket and IWB holsters carry the J38s easily. IWB while seated and pocket as reqd. Good access and very comfortable.

At present I'm useing a 'Uncle Mikes" IWB holster with the belt clip removed as a pocket holster. Actualy it works pretty well. Better then my high dollar 'Krammer'. Not to 'bad mouth' the Krammer It does what it is supposed to pretty well, keeps the gun secure, stays in the pocket when the gun is drawen, and is very well made.

So, why don't I like it? it's rather bulky, and being stiff leather, kind of uncomfortable. I've got a 'Mika' on order. If it doesn't seem to offer a improvment over the 'Uncle Mikes' I'll stick with it. (2 more for the 'perfect' holster drawer)

Try Alessi holsters...they are top notch. The new company has carried on the designs of the late, great, Lou Alessi.

I've used an Alessi pocket holster and can recommend it.

The new Lou Alessi company is a pleasure to do business with...give them a call and they will take the time to help you make a good choice that meets your requirements.

Any gun/holster is going to create a "bulge" in the pocket.

The trick is to have the bulge not appear to be a gun. Looser pants with pleats works best IME. Also, work pants like the Carharts are good.

Like he said.

It doesn't look as sturdy as the Mika (which I will probably go to eventually) but right now I'm using an Uncle Mikes "Inside The Pocket" holster in my jacket pocket. Thin as a padded envelope, no shifting around, smooth draw. $15, Indo-Chinese made. The Size 4, intended for sub-compact 9's, works fine for a snubby K. You need a Size 3 for the J-Frame.

I use an Uncle Mikes pocket holster. I've found that pocket carry works best with either pleated dress pants or baggier stuff like Carhartts or cargo pants.

I actually made several pocket hosters from leather scraps. Folded a piece approx wallet size and stitched bottom and side, rough side out. Used mostly in jean pocket. Can also be slipped in waste band when seated. Rough out leather does not move much even wiothout a clip.

They all make a "lump" in the pocket but nobody is going to notice. I use Mika pocket holsters with good results. I also have a PCS that I use when wearing jeans but I don't wear jeans that much any more.

For the past three years, I've been using a Bianchi "Pocket Change" for my J frame models 60 and 36 snubbies. Before discovering this holster, I tried a number of different ones..but this just seemed to work the best. It is inexpensive and just gets the job done.

If I ever need to replace it....I'll buy another just like it.
