I've been to your festival grounds down by the lake; went to the German festival and saw the Thunderbirds perform out over the lake. A great place you have there.

The Polish know how to have a good time.

For years I always went to the Polish Picnic in Springfield and other areas in MA.

I am addicted to Galumpkis;)

My dad's side of the family is Polish. I grew up in Erie PA, and loved going to Buffalo NY for their Polish holidays

When I was in High School a friend had a Polish political refugee living with her family. The man was in his late 30s and after a while we felt comfortable asking him questions about Poland. One day I brought up the derogatory Polish jokes that were common here at the time and asked what kind of jokes were actually told in Poland. He said most jokes in Poland were political and satirical. One example he gave was this:

About evening a man was rushing down the street and was stopped by two policemen. “Where are you going in such a hurry?’ demanded the first policeman. “I’m trying to get home before curfew” replied the man breathlessly. “Let me see your identity card” demanded the second policeman. The man handed over his identity card and the policeman carefully looked it over. Without saying a word he drew his pistol and shot the man. “Was there a problem with the ID?” asked the first policeman. “No, replied the second policeman. “But look at this address; he’d have never made it home before curfew.”
