Polished stainless and stag

Been there, but sadly never received an invite to a Texas BBQ:

I lucked into a set of Ken's J frame grips a while ago. I had a M60 in mind for them but the wife liked the M60 much better than the Browning Hi Power she keeps handy. There was no point in letting a fine set of grips sit in the closet so I put them on a Kit Gun.

Awhile back I came upon a 60 with some finish issues. Minor, but they bugged me. So, I polished it out by hand with Mother's. I had a set of fake ivories on it that looked pretty good. All was well, but then I ordered a grip adaptor from Robertson's Trading. While installing these, I overtightened and the plastic grips cracked. Damn. Oh well, I'll just order another set. They're out. So I get a set off fleabay. Cheap, but they look it. Then Ken puts up a pair of J frames! Gobbled them up. Then I get to thinking, which I shouldn't do. My 686+ has a pair of Ken's stags on it and the same adaptor. If I polish it out they will compliment each other nicely. So, out comes the Mother's. Polish it up and lose the bolt plunger putting it back together. Order in to Gunparts. Had some issues, but easily solved and fixed. Got the Jframe grips today. Put them together with a couple of stag handled pigstickers and you have a good EDC loadout. Maybe a bit old fashioned, but still effective, I would say.

That's a great looking rig
