Poll, Submachineguns

MP5K-PDW in 9X19mm would do nicely.

I do kinda miss the Submachine Gun, M3A1, Cal .45, that we carried on our tanks.

Being a person of simple tastes, I'd pick an M3A1.
Not glamorous, but a great, dependable, controllable weapon.
They were OVM in our tracked vehicles well into the 1980s.
The one time I got to fire a Thompson, it broke after about 3 shots.

I bought the semi auto Thompson when they first came out. Paid around $700(I think) Had a lot of fun shooting it. BUT, after 6 months, I started to run the 50rd drum, and halfway thru, the top of the receiver cracked and the bolt wouldn't retract. I took it apart and tried to weld it but it would take. I ended up throwing it overboard(I was on a USCG 65' tug at the time. Now I go to autoweapons.com and just drool at all the eye candy.

Thompsens are just plain cool! But.....a Model 76 Smith and Wesson would be a better choice for me.
A friend of mine has a legal NFA S&W 76 . They look cool but they really aren't very good . The mags are **** .

I'd like to have a M1928 Thompson. They just have the max "cool factor". I got to shoot the old M3 and M3AI grease gun a fair amount in the reg. Army in armor and Armored Cav units yearly qualification. They were reliable and surprisingly accurate within reasonable limits. But they fired pretty slowly and (I thought) weren't all that much fun to shoot.

Without a doubt for me it would be the Thompson. I've wanted one ever since age 13 in 1963 when on a tour of FBI headquarters an agent demonstrated one for our school group.

We've got two 1921 Thompsons (re-stamped 1928 when they transferred from the USA to the USN) in our vault...as an instructor, I have access to them and get to shoot them. We also have MP-5s in 9mm and 10mm...plenty of fun too.

I'd like to try the new UMP from H&K though. Looks fun.

A S&W 76 and a S&W 29-2 is a good handgun-subgun combo. :D

Since y'all are dreaming don't forget to dream for ammo to feed those suckers. I shot a full auto MAC in .45 one time. the guy gave me the gun with a full mag and I braced myself, pulled the trigger ..AND IT JAMMED AND QUIT FIRING.
I looked at the guy with a quizzical look on my face-he took the gun, looked at it and said "You're out of ammo". I shrugged my shoulders, said thanks and picked up my beer. That was 20 or so years ago when ammo only cost around $12 a box. I can burn through ammo quick enough just by pulling the trigger once for each shot-I can't afford to go through it any faster.
My Mini 14 folder is more than enough MAN gun for me.

I think a Schenellfeuer would be the ultimate. I've handled a couple (in New Zealand) but never fired one.
