I am 62 years old. Have 1 poly pistol, 4-1911's, most of rest are Smith revolvers. I have not kept any poly gun too long. Current is XDM 9mm Competition. So far I REALLY like it. Bob

Demographically speaking; persons in the 50+ age group have the most disposable income - what with the kids grown up, etc.

I wonder if this is why S&W keeps taking all their ordinary revolvers and making PC versions (aka 'more expensive')?

I'm just surprised to see so many curmudgeons on the interwebs...and it makes me realize that I may never "grow up" either!

I'm 41 and I started with semi auto's but had an appreciation for revolvers but after I got my first S&W revolver there was no going back. I am up to 8 revolvers now and I have several more on my must have list. I appreciate semi auto's and they have their place but almost all of my competition is with a revolver now and my CCW is a revolver. I think if more people would try them their would be more revolver owner\shooters.

Seeing the 61-70 group is leading the poll, it wont be long before the market will be flooded with used revolver's, it looks like it will be a buyers market. :)

I've seen some studies where people who carry revolvers live on average 10 years longer than people who carry semis and 15 years longer than people who carry Glocks. :D

Well, as far as bottom feeders go the ones I like are over a 100 years old design.
Lots of revolvers, many 1911's for me! :)

I like bottom feeders over 100 years old, too. I collect Mauser Broomhandles.

Incidently, there's a nice bell-shaped curve developing in the poll data. Veddy signivicant

I had to vote 61-70 because that is the age group I am in now. I've owned S&W revolvers since my 20's though.

I am 30 years old and I love and own several S&W revolvers. I also love colt revolvers and I own one I also love Ruger revolvers but I don't have one yet.

I found the poll results quite interesting.

I am now 58, but I have been into handguns since I was 18. My first was a used 1911, which I still own. My next purchase, at about 20 while I was still in college, was a K22 Masterpiece. THAT revolver, in concert with the influence of my old time gunsmith, started my love of S&W revolvers! At this point in life, I know that my children will each learn to enjoy a quality revolver when they each get their own K38 Masterpieces, one a 4 screw, the other a 3 screw.

Looking at the results, the numbers are triggering a high degree of speculation. Since most of the revolver owners are 50+, what is the probability that we all may have been weened on NRA 2700 matches, while the younger owners were weened on action style pistol matches?

Possibly, but I wonder how many of those revolvers will be passed on to loved ones?

I am at the upper end of the spectrum,(over 73).I own 7 S&W revolvers, allthough not quite sure why.
