Hey there, Y'all! I am gonna be purchasing an M&P 9c, but am not crazy about the feel of the polymer grip. Didn't like it on my Glock 19 either? I haven't been able to find anything like Hogue grips to put on it to make the grip better. Does anybody have any suggestions......? I was thinking maybe something like skateboard tape on the front strap and pinkie rest. Has anyone heard of something to put on the removable palm-swell/backstrap......maybe some sort of durable spray on rubber stuff kinda like rhino liner for truck beds?

Try Talongungrips.com. You could also try a Hogue Handall Jr. and trim to your liking.

Talon makes both a rough-texture grip and rubberized version, I think. They stick on; mine were easy to install. They remove cleanly, too.

I used Talon Grips and they are very good but now I make my own grips with the same self adhesive rubberized material as Talon Grips at 1/8 of the price custom made.

Check out A2 Stlipling. He seems to do work for a reasonable price. You can find his stuff for sale in the assy/misc. for sale in this forum

Just a thought. You can also buy gloves that have different materials on the palms and fingers. Like SUPER gripping. Rough, enough to grip anything, even a slimey fish. Just cut the finger or fingers out.

Thanks for the replies! I checked out Talon and they have what I was looking for, so I will probably go with them. if I were to buy rubberized material to do it myself, however, where might I do that?

+1 on Stippling. You can do it yourself (it isn't that tough) or hire it out.

I've used tapes in the past but they all eventually wear and peel. Sleeves seemed to increase the grip diameter too much for my liking.

Here's how mine turned out.

That looks good, not overdone. What tip did you use on the soldering iron. Thanks, Jesse.

Hey, Vindic8.....explain the mag extension you have on your M&P in these pix. Did you add a 12 rnd mag to a 10 rnd gun and put a sleeve on it? Where did you get the sleeve? I am purchasing a 12 rnd with pinkie extension, but I like the look of what you did......specifically on the backstrap side. It looks like it adds a little length on the back, which the pinkie extension does not.

That's the Shield he's got and that is just the normal 8 round extended mag.

What do you use for your material to make your own rubberized grips and where could I get it myself? I want to customize mine and cant see spending the money to buy grips and then cut them up to make them my own. Much better to do it your way.

Vindic8,
Ya looks great! How did you decide where to start and what guidelines did you use to keep it looking good? I mean did you just make the original stippling on the gun deeper and sharper and use it as a guide.. I would like to do this. I have the tools but how do I start? George
