I've been shooting some pretty dirty ammo recently and normally use regular Break Free CLP and a bore snake for all of my cleaning. Has anyone used any of the spray cleaners to get all the junk out of the upper receiver area. I've read where some of the spray cleaners have harmed some plastics. What products are 15-22 Polymer and Magpul safe????

Any to avoid???

I'd be shocked if any of the common gun cleaners would harm plastics. I've never had any problems with any of the ones I've used, and you have to think that at least half of the handguns out there today (if not more) have plastic frames.

I was thinking the same -- read some other posts on forums of Break Free Powder Blaster and similar spray cleaners eating plastic grips. Frames seem to be safe but many accessories seem to be sensitive (hopefully not Magpul stuff).....

There are two versions of Break Free and similar sprays; one that is polymer safe and one that isn't. Reading the label before buying or using will resolve the question.

Several of the cleaners are now offered in two version, one of which is clearly marked as Polymer. I use polymer safe Gun Scrubber sometimes.
