It's been a whilsince I've posted anything but yesterday I got tired of messing around loading and unloading the 45acp (even using my Delux Moonclip Tool) moonclips for my Govenor that I thought I would ask you guy's about the polymer moonclips that I've heard were pretty cool. easy to load and unload with (fingers only) and held up very well.
The Gov is the only reevelver I have that requires this type moonclips but aside of using the Gov. for home defense I have such a ball shooting the rescal I thought I would see if I could make it even more fun. Anyone have any experience with the poly moons and where to get them? Thanks,
Jim

I think brownells sells "Rimz" brand plastic moonclips for cheap. No personal experience with them though.

I have no personal experience with plastic moonclips but I've run through a few wheelguns that do use them and don't see where you would run into any problems using plastic as opposed to metal moonclips. The only foreseeable problem that I can think of is if you are carrying the moonclips as a backup reload for a concealed carry gun that they may rattle out of the clips more easily than a metal moonclip. That being said, for your purposes of using them in the Gov. you should be fine.

RIMZ are the brand you need. They are VERY easy to load / unload w/o tools. They hold the ammo securely, even if dropped and are very durable. I LOVE THEM ! Here's their website--WATCH THE VIDEO.......Ez Moon Clips.....BTW, I use RIMZ in.45ACP in my 625-3 Model of 1989.....

I use the plastic moon clips in my 625 .45 ACP with good results. They sure are easier on the fingers than the steel ones!

I have no experience with 45 acp RIMZ,but I use RIMZ 40 cal/10mm in my 610.They work great in 40 cal for IDPA and 10mm for hunting.

I have the RIMZ and they work very well. I like the metal moon clips because they are cheap and I can load up 150 or so rounds and I'm good to go at the range. The RIMZ work well to take a box of ammo to the range and load by hand. The rounds flop around a little more so I wouldn't think the RIMZ would be as good as metal for competition or carry but they do hold the ammo firm and work well. If you have a gun that uses moon clips, you should have a few of the RIMZ in your bag.
