Shot well. This is my first .45, and I was happily surprised by the mild recoil. Easy to control, and no failures at all shooting WWB 230gr ball ammo.
And it IS true - these WILL feed empty cases! I interspersed a few in a magazine of live rounds and they cycled just fine.
The slide to frame fit isn't like a Dan Wesson or anything - it's got some play (like every other one of my 3rd gen S&W pistols), but it is not excessive and doesn't seem to affect accuracy at all.
For what I spent I did just fine. I'll definitely keep her...
Here's the target I shot tonight with the 4506-1. This is 12 rounds at 7 yards.
It shoots low because the sight picture is different than my other pistols, but it shoots slightly right because the front sight has been adjusted slightly left. I've seen people do this to correct for poor technique; when I push it back over I'm confident it will be dead-on again.
I'm not the best shot, but that grouping isn't too bad...
Beuford... by the looks of things, you probably have one of the 4506-1 (revision 4) versions that are recognized to be the best ones made, which makes your purchase even sweeter. I have a 4506-1 that shoots equally well and is one of the later ones described in the thread mentioned below.

Fine 45 pistol. I shot one of mine yesterday. Little tiny sub 3" groups out to 15 yards or so. Seemed to really like the 230 grain Federal ball range fodder.
A pleasure to shoot. Excellent trigger. And a fine looking gun.
The pistol is far more accurate than my old eyes. Regards 18DAI
