Possible R8 issue?

Well I took a deep breath and took of the side plate and shot some CLP into the trigger rebound spring and such. There was some carbon inside but not too much. Seems to be working alot better now. Only way I can get it to screw up is by forcing a short stroke.
 
I could very well be wrong in this instance, but this has happened on 2 revolvers when the sideplate screws were not properly tightened or had worked loose. Tightening the screws correctly (not overly tight) solved the problem. Worth a try?

See? Told ya it was the sideplate screws! You tightened them on replacing the sideplate. ;) Now go out and shoot that gun. Please don't put it through a torture test; it is a personal purchase, not a test "vehicle" to be stressed to see at what point it will fail. Shoot it as you would normally. If it again skips, off to the plant! Wish you well; I hate it when folks' guns act up.
