Not sure if it was the team that played Navy,
with Rizzuto as Navy shortstop.
My Dad was the Army shortstop, and Phil said,
you're my equal.
Those who knew both of them, said my Dad had the edge.
Generals, bounced him from base to base, as he was a slugger,
lefty or righty, and Generals like to win.
Wonder how much money and scotch, changed hands.
With the 10th Mountain, his nickname was Radio.

i saw that episode. At one point Carson asked him why he would allow himself to take such a beating. He said he was too lazy and could never get up every morning and go to a boring job. He said it was easier to just let someone beat him up now and then. It was after he said that that Carson threw his head back in laughter in that pic.
