I bought a M&P recently, and would like to buy the correct grips for it (it came with the pictured grips). S/N places it very late 1940s or early 1950s. I plan on posting a WTB in the forums, but what should I expect to pay for a set of service grips for this gun?

Thank You

Andy

A nicer set of K frame square butt diamond Magnas should run you about $30-50. You can also keep your eyes peeled for these online. Nice gun!

Thank You for the speedy answer and the compliment :)

She will look much more elegant with the right shoes.

Here's my two inch M&P from the C127000 serial range which should date to about 1950. The grips are numbered to the gun.

A year of so later, the contour at the top front edge of the grips was changed to a more rounded shape. Maybe you can notice the difference between the one's on my '53 vintage K-22 (front) and those on my K-38 from 1948.....

Hopefully, this will help you find the right grips. A fine looking gun like yours certainly deserves to have the correct style grips.

Thank You, both

This one is a C103000 range gun, so would take the earlier style, I guess. I posted a WTB add, now that I know a little better what I am looking for.

Thank You again

Andy

I recently bought a 5 screw M&P also. My "C" serial # has only 5 digits so it's probably from either 1948 or 1949. It has square butt diamond Magnas that are serial # matched. (like said above, just verifying the info)
