It doesn't have to be fancy, hot dogs and burgers are welcome too.:)

Not my best spread for the year, but something different. From a farmer friend bought a whole lamb. Today grilled shanks and chops. Smoked with hickory and apple wood. Just something for an ordinary Tuesday, enjoying the outdoors on the farm.

My dog

This is a picture of a couple of little steaks grillin. The cool part is the way my old dog is lickin her lips in anticipation. That was a good year. I had my grand daughters at the time.:( I miss them everyday.
Peace
gordon

Thanks Hobbyist, that was nice of you to say.

No big secrets. I generally buy pre-made pizza dough from our local Wegmans supermarket and split it in half and toss them for (2) 13" pies. It's just easier than making the dough from scratch!

I heat the stones with the grill so they are really hot when the pizza goes on.

We make pizzas quite often and use whatever we have here for ingredients. The fresher the better!

The red pizza on the left is just herb and grated cheese, pizza sauce, fresh mozzarela, fresh basil from our herb garden and thin-sliced tomatoes. The white pizza is a mix of EVVO and hot pepper infused olive oil, fresh grated parmesano reggiano, herbs, mozzarella, raw ****ake mushrooms and a bit of basil. More of our topping will come from our garden later in the season. What you didn't see is a handful of raw, fresh spinach went on both about 1 minute before I pulled them off the grill.

They cook fast and the crust stays airy and very crispy.

You're looks pretty darn good as well. I'm not ready to toss the shell directly on the grill!!!:)

EDIT>>>> I forgot the most important ingredient...lots of thin sliced garlic is a must!

Good eating my friend!

@ Kozmic,

Very good. Thanks for the tips and info. We have a garden here too. Actually, between working and schedules, it's hard to manage at times...it's awful big. We just canned about 15 mason jars of strawberries, another 10 of cherries, and another 15 or so with half strawberry half cherry. It is wonderful on vanilla ice cream, or toast. No sugar added or preservatives.....we generally give them away to friends.

I'm thinking about next year doing country ham salted and smoked for a month without refrigeration. Know an old farmer who has an old recipe to help me out...in talking to him, I was surprised to learn the smoke isnt really all that much about flavor as keeping the flies off.......plenty of salt and timing i guess.

I love cooking for people and the wife and I enjoy entertaining and just being at peace here on the farm. Probably going to do chickens next year or ducks and organic turkeys.

Next on my list is getting the black smith shop up and running. Thinking about doing custom knives just for fun, more or less a hobby and try to come up with good practical tools for friends and family.

To provide reference/context, the farm I bought recently has an old black smith shop with a lot of the tools and such inside, which is why I am considering it. If life gets too busy, it may be a project in the next few years.

@ BearBio, I wish I could "Like" your post more than once. Very nice and really enjoy the firearms posted, you got good taste my friend.

I know it's not a big deal, but I made home made mac n cheese on the grill and ham, smoked it in cast iron pans. Was good, but I wouldnt recommend that being a regular part of anyone's diet haha.
