Post Your WWI and WWII Firearms

You guys are killing me. And oh well the weather is supposed to be crappy tomorrow. Guess I will dig in the safe and pull out my old relics. I don't have any pics anyway and they could use a wipedown.

WWI 1916 Luger, all original and number matching. Stamping on front strap shows it was assigned to 2nd Machine Gun Company, Infantry Regiment 158. This was a Prussian regiment, originally, "7.Lothringisches Infanterie=Regiment, established on 31 March 1897 in Paderborn, Germany. At the outbreak of the Great War, the 158th was assigned to the 13th Infantry Division, VII Corps, 2nd Army. In March, 1915 the 158th was transferred to the 50th Division and remained with them until the end of the war.

The combat record of the 158th is very interesting. It was part of the Imperial German element that invaded Belgium fighting in both Champagne and Artois prior to its transfer to the 50th Infantry Division. After joining the 50th, the 158th fought in Verdun-Vaux, Argonne, Aisne, St. Quentin, Aisne, Rheims, Meuse and was in the Meuse area at the Armistice.

What a wonderful thread. Can't believe it hadn't been rated...Just gave it a 5 star!! You guys are giving me a real education. I have a couple of guns to post, but don't have photos handy right now.

Some of you, like Cyrano, for example, need to be writing textbooks on this stuff....or maybe you already have?

Anyway, great thread, and keep them coming!!!!

Best Regards, Les

Top shelf is a mixture, to many to list individually!!! Can't
really see the Lahti in the corner. The 38H has new grips
and mag, but otherwise in excellent shape. The Remington 51
doesn't really go there, but it seems happy.
The lower shelf is all Mausers, including the K Date Luger and
BYF43 P38.

Here is a picture of a British WW2 Lanchester Mark 1* that I bought. I took this picture after it arrived and was unpacked at my local Class 3 dealer. Most Lanchesters were made by Sterling, but mine is one of the scarce ones made by W.W. Greener. I'm still waiting for the transfer paperwork to be approved. I waited 9 months for my son. I hope I don't have to wait that long for my Lanchester.

The WW2 revolver I would most treasure is the Smith & Wesson revolver that my father carried. When his ship was sunk by a German U boat in the North Atlantic, the only things he saved were the clothes on his back and his Smith & Wesson revolver. Unfortunately, my mother sold the gun after he passed away.

Here is the closest I have. It is a Winchester model 94 carbine dated June 1942. It is 4 serial numbers away from a known PCMR carbine. Mine stayed state side but does fall in to war time production.

These are very cool guns from WWII and not over priced (yet) The Czech CZ 27 in 7.65 (32 ACP) This one is pretty late war 1944 late probably. The finish is Phosphate and hardly any time has been spent to polish the finish.
