Some of you might have watched my Lionel Train Layout video when I posted it back in the Spring. I had just finished it and was anxious to post it - but traditionally right about now is when the Holiday Season kicks in and some of us older fellas get nostalgic and like to reminisce. "Train Season" is in high gear right now! :)

It plays about a half hour or so and please view it on your regular big screen computer in 1080 High Definition for best viewing experience. If you get a bit impatient watching all the operating accessories, please don't miss the last clip which is the night time operation.

Note: Sometimes you need to roll back the video and start it from the beginning - don't ask why because I have no idea - lol.

BTW the guys who appear in some of the shots are not me - just friends helping me out so I could do the filming. :p Again - 1080 Hi Def!

NOTE: PLEASE see post #33 added 12/14/2020

I can't get over how how much time that It must have taken to box up and store all that equipment and then get it out of storage and open it up again and get it ready to run.

I can see why it took a while to get things ready................ !!

A Super Duper set up, indeed.
Well done and thank you for inviting us into your train world.

Fabulous!!
I "cast" it over to the big living room TV, and played it for hubby. He smiled through the whole thing. The newsstand guy reminded him of "Dashing Dan", and the bridge of the one at Hell Gate. He jokingly put in a request for the Oyster Bay turntable for next year.
As a former "Dashing Danielle", I thank you for sharing.

Went on an alarm call one night to a residence. Owner was there and all was well, but we checked the home for him anyway. In the basement was a room, maybe 10 X 10, and three of the walls had Lionel trains on shelves with tracks, from floor to ceiling. I think my jaw dropped when I saw all those engines and cars.

My dad left my brother and I his standard gauge Lionel train set. Two engines, a passenger train and a freight train, hundreds of feet of track, four right and four left hand switches , buildings, etc. Since my brother had the sons, he got the train set and it is set up each year in the basement. I'm guessing but that set is close to 90 or 100 years old! My dad got the set when he was about 10 years old and that would have been in the 1920's,

At this time of the year I would normally be having a house full of guests (train collectors, neighbors, relatives and friends) but this year is a different story due to Covid19. Now everything is done on the internet.

Glad you guys enjoyed it - I just ordered a better camera and will soon do a second video of many of the operating rail stock that I just couldn't fit onto this one (missile launchers, helicopter launcher car, target car, etc. etc.). Many are "fun cars" and will hopefully have that one done in February or so.
