Was at Cabelas, Dundee, Mi on Tuesday. Was surprised at the amount of powder they had. Did not see any primers though. Might have sold down by now? Bob

Noticed the same thing when I went up to visit my parents in WI last weekend.

Stopped at Midwestern Shooters Supply in Lomira and found they had plenty of powder at a reasonable price, but only had a single partial brick of BR4 primers with 3 or 4 hundred left.

Powder might be on the up tick, though Alliant does not seem to even be trying. I suspect this situation is driven by the lack of primers. Why bother with powder if you can't use it

I have actually seen powder is a few local shops. One shop I'm particular had 1lb and 8lb bottles of popular powders like Bullseye, Unique, 2400, W231,W296, H335, Benchmark and a hand full others. Not all the rifle powders were in 8lb bottles but the handgun powders were. I was very surprised and they had a good mix of ammo too including 38/357, 44 Mag, 30-06, 6.5mm Grendel and some other I haven't seen in a long time.

Went to my Cabelas "Lacey Washington" last Friday. They have had some powder the last two times I have been in. I bought 1lb. of 3031. They did not have any Alliant powder. They did have an 8 lb. jug of a pistol powder but right now I can't remember what it was?

They have had a bunch of ammunition as well. About 3 weeks ago the guy was putting it on the shelf and he said it was coming in faster than they can put it on the shelves. I had about given up on Cabelas.

I asked about primers and they come in occasionally and they limit to one brick.

Local Bass Pro has plenty of powder and primers. Cabelas is the same company so maybe the same thing, primers behind the counter. They sell primers for $7.20 per hundred so same price as three years ago.
