Exposed firing pin, is this normal?

Are you referring to the firing pin or the loaded chamber indicator? When the hammer is down you can't see the firing pin. Just above the hammer is a pin which protrudes from the slide when there is a round in the chamber called the loaded chamber indicator. Is that the pin you speak of?

Right need photo sounds like you're talking about the loaded chamber indicator pin. But no photo no way to tell if that is the case.
