S&W Walther?

If anyone has or ends up with a Smith that falls under the recall send it to Walther, not S&W.

The time frame from my first email to Walther about getting it done to getting the gun back to me was 11 days.

I have a S&W/ Walther PPK/s that states somewhere on it that it is from Houlton Maine.

It was a cantankerous firearm for several years. It just would not run...
Dozens of different brands and types of ammo.
FTF, FTE, stovepiping. I tried to trade it in, and they have such a bad reputation locally I couldn't give it away.
I let my regular gunsmith have a crack at it. No joy.
I sent to Walther, no joy.
I came into a little bit of money and sent it Cylinder and Slide, but you have to wait a year and a half to get the work done.

It's come back. Fingers crossed it is working well, but it was expensive.

Best of luck to you.

I have a S&W PPK/S in .32acp. Excellent gun, great shooter. I like it! :D

You've also hit upon one of the great mysteries of S&W. Nobody seems to know how many were made, especially in which caliber. S&W will just barely admit to their existence with only two paragraphs about them in the SCSW. No way to get an exact date on one as S&W says all the records are "in storage". These guns are S&W's red headed step child.
Among Walther collectors the S&W version is at the bottom of the desirability list. They don't seem to like it at all.

Mine came with a test-fired case in a small brown envelope. It was signed and dated by the guy that tested it. 5/14/2008. It's a BAK number block.

PPK/S

I have a S&W PPK/S in .380 caliber and it is my summer time carry gun of choice. East to conceal and reliable.
