DAD UPDATE: Dad just left a few moments ago for the hospital to have some blood work that his kidney doctor requested. Then on Wednesday he has an appointment with his kidney doctor. I know I have said this a lot but thank you for all of your prayers and your kind words.

Dad Update: Dad just left for his appointment with his kidney doctor. I will let you know what he finds out as soon as I can. Thank you for all of your prayers and kind words and encouragement.

Dad Update: Dad just returned from his kidney doctor appointment and he brought good news.

The amount of protein that is spilling out of his pee has gone down and the blood work that he had done yesterday was good. Thank you all very much for all of your prayers may god bless each and every one of you.

Prayers sent.

I am 41, I work concrete construction which is a very physically demanding job.
Last Spring I wound up alone on a job site and had to unload a 600 lb. piece of steel grating that was 8' X 6' by myself. Of course there was no way I could lift it, and I had no equipment available. The grating was on a flat bed trailer, I pulled the truck and trailer up on a slope, so the trailer was facing downhill, grabbed hold of the grate, and managed to pull/slide it off the back. Took me about thirty minutes, I would move it a few inches at a time, rest, and move it again.
I got it off the trailer and didnt hurt or feel anything out of the ordinary the rest of the day. Next morning I get out of bed, head to the bathroom to take my morning pee and...Nothing. I could not urinate. I was about to bust after being asleep all night, but I just couldnt go.
Wound up having to go to the E.R. After being cathed, and a bunch of tests, I found out that I had a hernia, and and damaged a bunch of muscles in my plumbing area. I also had strained and damaged my prostate...Not good.
After lots of rest, out patient surgery, and special exercises I am back to almost 100%.

So I know what it is like to have urinary problems...Prayers for your Dad.
And a warning to all of you...Know your limitations, dont push past what your body tells you is enough. Muscles arent hydraulics.

Doctors told me I was very luck, my prostate eventually healed, and the damaged muscles tissue did too.
Not being able to pee is NO FUN.

Take care of yourselves.

Just saw this - I'm still sending prayers for your Dad and you.
BTW - Paladin is right on the mark - couldn't have said it any better.
