Prayers sent. I wish your loved one a full recovery. I was also diagnosed with gastrointestinal infection last week. I've been bed ridden for a week with a fever but recovering well. Again, I wish your loved one a quick and full recovery.
Thank you all for your prayers and support. She's doing somewhat better today and may be able to come home in a few days. That's already happened twice already. Multiple recurrences of the disease is one of the worst characteristics of C-diff. As of today, she has used up all of her vacation pay and sick leave. I don't want to think about what would happen if she loses her job over this. She's been there for 31 years, but we all know how today's bean counters tend to overlook things like that.

First and foremost. I don't talk to her about this other stuff, but it helps to come here and release some of the pressure. Your advice will certainly be heeded should the need arise.

Just got a call from her telling me she is being discharged from the hospital (again) today. Course of treatment will be six weeks of the anti-biotic she is currently receiving. Then, she will be scoped for a visual check for spores. She asked the gastro doc why she felt so bad and he said the anti-biotic she's on causes that. One of the side effects. Great. She's not looking forward to "feeling bad" for the next six weeks. Thanks again for the prayers.
