Prayers for your friend to have a rapid recovery. Guillain-Barre is a terrible thing to have. It is quite common for the condition to progress to the point where the patient must be placed on a ventilator because he/she can no longer breathe. The good thing is that it usually reverses and the patient makes a full recovery. They sometime have to learn to walk and speak again.

Update on Prayer request.
Les was on a ventilator and all kinds of tubes down His throat and elsewhere. They have removed the ventilator and the tubes from His throat and have Him sitting on the edge of the bed. No feelings in His limbs, but He is breathing on His own Thanks to You all!!

I'm very sorry to hear of this but it's good to know of his improvement. As I understand it, there is a possibility of complete or near complete recovery but it'll take patience and a lot of work.
