Prayers Please the hardest thing I have ever had to write

Steve,

I will pray for you in my daily prayers and petitions to our Lord. May God look over you and bless you. Trust in Him.

All I can say is wow!

I cannot imagine all the thoughts and feelings you are going through. I will be saying prayers for you. May God bless you and your family in this difficult time.

Sir: You Char and kids are in our prayers here. I admire your courage and grace in what must surely be such a fearful time. God Bless you, and stay strong as you can.

Ohio: I am new here and have not had the pleasure to get to know you like many of the members here, but I will definitely send every possible prayer and positive thought to you and your family to find strength and peace in this difficult time, and to find the power to make the decisions you need to make. I do believe that miracles happen, and I sincerely pray that one finds its way to you and your family. Marty919

Hey, gang. This deserves to be at the top again.

Steve,
Thoughts and prayers have been sent and will be continuing for you and your family from Big Sky Country, my brother. I feel your pain. Please keep the serenity prayer in mind. You have some major decisions to make with your family. Let God guide you in the process.
You kind of feel numb when you're first told. It's a lot to take in and process. Then you think that the doctor has got to be wrong, but the second opinion only confirms the first. Then you get really P.O.'d. Then you finally accept it and then deal with it as best as you can, learning the treatment options, if any even exist for your particular type of cancer. (BTW, check out to see if an eye transplant is an option for you). I know what you're going through, and you've probably worn out your keyboard looking up your cancer on the internet, like I have. I was told I have stage 3 Primary Liver Cancer (Hepatocellular Carcinoma) Dec. 5th. 3 tumors, 2cm. to 8cm. It's an "Orphan Disease", not "financially viable" for the drug companies. Not much research. Because of bleeding issues, they won't even cut out the tumors. Bad blood products gave me Hepatitis C and Cirrhosis, which led to the cancer. No signs until it was too late. But let God be in all of your decisions. Make Him part of the team. God does answer prayer, even if we don't always like the answer.

The way I view the forum is, We're all family here, we just haven't met each other yet. Keep us posted. We care. Like I said, we're family.

P.S.: Please warn your family that as the pain gets worse, no matter how great the drugs are now, the drugs will become much less effective, and your personality will change. You won't mean to or want to, but you'll lash out at the ones you love the most. I don't know why, but that is how it goes down. It's important to keep a positive mental attitude for as long as possible. Do you have a living will or medical directive? -Ed.

P.P.S.: Before you sell off your guns, see if there is a particular gun that has meaning to each of your children, and if so, give it to them now so that you can enjoy it together. -Ed.

UPDATE

Words cannot express how much we appreciate all of your support, advice and prayers through this ordeal.

UPDATE:
I have more consultations and tests scheduled for next week. The Dr. called Friday morning and told us as after a "TEAM" meeting it was decided that surgery is no longer a consideration and would not have any effect at all. The only option left is aggressive radiation and chemo. That's what the test is for next week to see if this would be of any consequence or not. They started me on some nasty drugs today and are scheduling a meeting about a pain management program. The past few days have been the roughest I have ever experienced. Your support and understanding is helping me make it through this. Again we thank you for everything.

I really do appreciate the many concerns and the excellent advice.

Fortunately I have kept a very detailed inventory of the gun collection and one of the first things I did was earmark who I want to have what and what gets sold.

Some of you may remember the Flintlock rifle I just finished building from scratch. It is being left to my 9-year-old granddaughter the only deer hunter in the family besides me. I never got to shoot it. She helped me finish after I found out about the cancer. She didn't know at that time, but does now.

I have given serious thoughts as to the side effects and personality changes, all guns and ammo are stored and locked and it seems I now have a 24 hour babysitter keeping me in line. Fortunately I haven't had any problems but I have always lived in the real world and know that anything can happen at anytime.

Again we cannot thank all of you enough for all of the support, prayers and advice. It is appreciated more than you will ever know.

I hope I am not boring everyone with all of the rambling, as strange as it may sound It makes me feel a little better just to talk it out.

We are always here for you, night or day, if you want to talk.

I prayer for strength and courage for you and your family.

Prayers sent Steve. My wife is an ovarian cancer surviver. Twelve years now. Keep the faith.

Thanks for the update, Steve. Prayers are continuing. Isn't it amazing how it helps to talk about it? Don't forget to tell your wife and kids how much you love them and how much they mean to you. It's little things like that that often get overlooked, but will mean so much to your loved ones. Hang in there, brother. We're all here for you. Might I suggest that you locate a cancer support group if you haven't already? God Bless. -Ed.

I never know what to say in a situation like this, But rest assured I have said a prayer for you.
