Fairly scarce Factory Nickel Pre-19...I will try to work on some better pictures. It is hard to shoot nickel well with a flash. I tried outdoors, but the grips came out to dark. I tried a flash, but it misrepresents the finish when you use one. Again, thank you for allowing me to purchase this beautiful 4-screw gun.

Thank you :) That is one of the chaise lounge chairs on our deck....a cloudy, gloomy, cold Saturday in suburban Chicago. Please bring the sun back.

I will shoot the right side of the gun when I get a chance.

Congratulations! You don't see nickel Pre-19s very often, and that is a stunning example.

Congrats and great pictures of your combat magnum. They are the best all around shooting revolvers I have ever had the pleasure of shooting.

Good luck with yours,
Howard

Very nice sir. I'm not typicaly a big fan of nickel plated pieces, but somehow that pre 19 just exudes a little touch of class. The darker color grips seem perfect for her too.

Love it.

That is a beautiful gun perfect for formal events. Nice find!

Here is a little trick...shoot the photo at a bit of an angle while holding a white piece of paper, card board, foam core etc. above the revolver so you get the reflection of the white board and less of yourself.

Proud pins and rosewoods.... that's a Combat Magnum! :D

I shoot nickel outdoors in the shade...

... and have good luck (sometimes:)) with that.

Rosewoods - Great minds think alike.

Pre-19, Nickel CM

An ultra-classic, for sure. Wonder if the designers realized - or simply thought, "Well, just another application for the K-frame".

Thanks for sharing.

I was telling a friend that the Model 19 and the K-38 are the guns that made me fall for S&W when I was a kid. I remember my dad walking in the door as a policeman...I would be on the floor playing. I really do remember this at 4 or 5 years old.

I could smell his leather police jacket...I could hear the creaking leather of his gun belt, and I would look at the Model 19 hanging off his hip. He used to shoot a 6" K-38 in competition, and oddly enough, he would even shoot his 2.5" Model 19, which was his off-duty weapon.

He eventually traded the 19 for a 66.

A 6" K-38 was the first gun I ever bought when I was 15.

When I found out my friend had a NICKEL Pre-19, I begged, I pleaded, and I even threw myself on the floor and had a tantrum. But when I told him that I was going to hold my breath until he sold it to me, he gave in.

Another Gem! Wow now, how are you doing it?
I have mortgaged the farm and the cows.

Nick, if we could just get you to stop calling them 'Pre'.

See you in Orlando.

I have a close friend here that was a deputy in florida. He also has a nickle model 19. I never looked at it for markings. I will have to ask him about if it was department issued or what. He told me he carried it on the job.
I also had one years ago for a short time. It had a floresant green front sight that was a turn off for me. I traded it to a friend for a metal detector and have never used the detector!
