Pre 27 5" age check please.

Hi all,

This week I picked up my second N frame, a Brand New 27 4" classic for shooting and looking at, while at the dealer, I see a 27 no dash, 5" blue, non original grips, has been refinished, but still nice as a shooter.

its serial number is S 1978xx

Dealer had a book that went back to mid 1960's and it wasnt in it.

He also has a 27-2, 6" blue, original grips, box, 98-99% finish, like new all over.

Serial S2399xx.

Could I get an age for both please, I am waiting for my paperwork to come from Firearms so I can get them.

I went to get one N frame, ended up with three.

PS: my first N frame was a model 29-2 like new, 100%, ended up being crushed by NSW state Goverment for being bigger than 38 cal.

I still miss that gun

I have a Model 27, no dash, 5", #S198260, that shipped August, 1960. It's a sweet shooter!

Pity about your 29-2. Of course we can have them again now.

Thanks for the replies, I didnt think the pre dash would be that old, but I dont know a great deal about them yet, so thanks again.

I should have them in a few weeks.

I took my new 27 to the range and ran abox of 158gr win jhp's through it, shoots great, better than I can.
