I found one on GB about 2000 later, that was clearly marked..
Nice gun, but don't want to pay to much if it has been changed.
If there is no number there I would avoid it unless it is being purchased as a shooter and priced accordingly.

For .16 a day you can join the S&WCA and ask Roy if it was shipped as a 3 1/2" gun.
