Pre K32 First Model/Humpback Hammer **Up Dated with Letter***

In the ".32 Long" pic above it sure looks like the barrel was modified for each of the rib-vents. The muzzle view looks like the front sight base was altered as well.
It is a very cool revolver and you should be proud to own it. Any chance we will be seeing a target? My 3" M-31-1 shoot really well and I wonder how the older versions shoot?

Hi All
Just received my letter today from Roy Jinks. My revolver was a special order of only one shipped to Toronto Ontario Canada on November 1,1937.
Probably the only one of its kind in Canada so i would say this is a very rare find. It did ship with the Humpback Hammer he also says that the Vented Rib was a aftermarket add on as for the S&W Grip adapter he never mention anything about it whether it came with or not most likely it was added on after. This is a Pre K-32 First Model he called it as S&W didn't introduce the K32 First Models untill April 15,1938 so this would be the predecessor to them even more rare to find a earlier shipping dated one interesting. Heres a photo of the letter Enjoy!..

The offset hammer is not a factory option and was made by aftermarket gunsmiths, probably originally designed by one of the best, King Sight Co., and copied by several including Microsight. The one shown is a "right hand cockeyed". Left hand and double cockeyed were also made.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but, I beg to differ. I bought a .38/44 Outdoorsman at the annual in Troy. The factory letter states " The grips in my opion are Roper grips and the cock-eyed hammer is one produced by Smith & Wesson and not the King Sight Company." So S&W did produce a cock-eyed hammer. By the way, I bought it from Lee Jarret.

Don,

No worries. Very interesting and never too late to learn something new! Many of us would like to see pics of that one and the letter. Can you post?

Hi all and thanks for your compliments.

And yes its been to the range and it fires flawlessly i put 25 rnds through it to try it out and it was very impressive to shoot. Very accurate as most K32's are...Now its a safe Queen till i decide what i'm going to do with it i may sell it to fund other projects..

TERRIFIC FIND ! I wanted before posting anything as Dik, Bob et all posting so much info my head hurts.

The only one in Canada, specially one shipped in 1937-WoW.

I got into K32s 15 years ago and it was too late to pick these up for under $2,000.
