What / where to get the tools to properly unscrew the pins under the sideplate? Thank you.

The spanner wrenches to fit these pins are not usually commercially available.
You will have to make your own unless somewhere there are some still to be found in a mill supply company.

Thank you. I was getting frustrated in my fruitless search.

Just a thought, Have you tried a pin vise such as you would use to hand drill a small hole? Apply some resin to help the grip and heat the outside of the frame with a heat gun.

After 45 years in the automotive repair industry, I know a small amount of heat in the right place can work wonders.

I thought those pins were factory pressed into position.

Are they screwed in?
The early ones were screwed in. The later ones were pressed in. If screwed in, then it's also peened. You will have to grind away the peening then unscrew it (with a homemade spanner).
