Pre-Model 15

Here's my latest score. A Pre-15, 5-screw, made in 1951, and has the original diamond grips numbered to the gun. The bluing is thin in places but she's in pretty good shape! Can't wait to get her to the range.

Nice one. I too need to get to the range with my pre 15. They say they are sweet shooters. The weather here needs to break so I can find out for myself.

Congrats and great pictures on your combat masterpiece. I had one made in the same year. Very accurate and one of the smoothest actions in a revolver that I have ever own. I used it as trade bait to get a model 66. The model 66 is a great revolver but I still miss my old combat masterpiece. Maybe the finest 38 special revolver ever made.

Hey Engineguy, thanks for the complement. I'm not familiar with the term "High Speed Hammer". Is that some type of option that was available?

The early high-speed hammers were standard, and have the fish-hook
appearance, as yours does. The name comes from them being shorter
throw than the pre-WW2 long-action hammers. So, they are faster ,
and hence the name high speed.

Yes, thank you I just looked it up. Also compared to my later M10s and M19s. It does feel good in the hand, just need to get out and see how she shoots!

I have a pre-15 made in 1950. It is a great shooter and very accurate. You will enjoy shooting it.
