Pre Model 37 Airweight

Just picked this one up. It was clean and didn't require much work, except looking for the frame bolt plunger that shot across the work table . I date this one around 1955. Stocks number to the gun. A few holster/storage wear spots but overall a very nice S&W.

Could be '55, but there were more 3-screw frames with that small knurled hammer in '56 and later.

Serial #’s 55050 - 75000 = 1955- 1956.
Could very well be 1956.

Yes, my database reflects a "batch" of Chiefs Special Airweights
from 606xx - 635xx in that era (the later one in August '56).
