Pre model 37 box question

Hi George,

I have an idea that it's the name (or initials) of the store that sold it. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the gun, but their are older and wiser members on this forum.

In the old days, especially in the 1950s when that box w/gun was sold. It was a very common and cheap practice for advertising. Car dealers would go so far as to have chrome metal name lettering of their dealership name. They actually drilled holes in the trunk lid sheetmetal to affix these things to the new cars they sold!! Now it's usually just a license plate frame.

That is an early and rare blue box with former red box metal corner fasteners! Smith wasted nothing!
